MANAGER PLANT - 925206

(Kalimantan Based)

Some of your duties will include: 

• Lead, direct, and control the day-to-day activities of a single plant or multiple plants to achieve outstanding production and safety targets;

• Monitor and control activities such as maintenance, manufacturing, quality control, engineering, supply and logistics, distribution in order to achieve the short and medium-term financial and operating objectives set by the overall corporate business plan;

• Actively monitor, assess and provide recommended management initiatives to respond to potential and actual risks;

• Ensure early advice and recommendations to the Project Manager on areas of cost or service risk and opportunity;

• Consistently support the core behaviours that will success on the project;

• Leading a team of both expatriate and Indonesian superintendents and supervisors, you will coach and mentor your team in world’s best mining practices;

• Maintain and facilitate clear communication with all stakeholders, clients, customers, suppliers with respect to operational capability, performance, and resource requirements.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Graduate from Tertiary Degree in Maintenance /Engineering or related discipline;

• Minimum of 10 years previous experience in a similar role experience in large open cut mining operation of which at least five years in production/service supervision/ management role, experience working with a mining contractor is also highly regarded;

• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance management principles and practice, People handling skill diagnostic skills in all aspects of mechanical repairs.

• Mechanic experience on Thiess equipment e.g. Cat, Komatsu, Liebherr, Coal hauling and lifting equipment.

• Financial reporting & concepts

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – GEOTECHNICAL & SENIOR

GEOTECHNICAL - 925204

(Jakarta & Site Based)

Some of your duties will include: 

SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL (Jakarta based only)

• Review and revise geotechnical management system in accordance with TSE geotechnical implementation

• Manage (collect, evaluate, review progress and result) GT monitoring, GT check list, GT Hazard Map and Geotechnical Hazard Database which relevant with geotechnical issues including geotechnical Risk Assessment

• Support all site to identify, investigation and GT assessment of geotechnical issues to internal Thiess, including GT report and recommendation to assist mining operational problems.

• Provide geotechnical assistance and expertise to the business, include tendering for new and extension existing projects.

• Manage geotechnical aspect such as analysis, verification and evaluation (slope stability, slope mass criteria, design special project e. g. embankment, diversion, road design for design parameter)

• Gather the necessary data and develop geotechnical models for the analysis of specific problems (geological structure, rock properties, water influenced, etc.)

• Assess geotechnical scope of work on contract standard with client, include evaluate and verify client report

• Attend and actively participate in project review meeting and provide expert advice

• Regularly communicate and coordination with Engineering, Mining Operation, Management Site and Geotechnical-TS Asia JKT

GEOTECHNICAL (Site based only) 

• Conduct daily geotechnical monitoring include filling visual basic inspection, check list and movement monitoring form

• Create geotechnical hazard map and geotechnical field mapping

• Provide geotechnical hazard database

• Conduct preliminary geotechnical assessment refer to geotechnical monitoring, geotechnical hazard map and geotechnical database.

• Communicate with Engineering, Mining Operation and Management Site due to find geotechnical high risk level

• Assist to Engineering, Mining Operation, Safety and Management Site when have mining plan on geotechnical high risk area including in the JSEA and RA preparation.

• Regularly communicate and coordination with Geotechnical-TS Asia JKT

• Create monthly geotechnical summary report to Site Management and Geotechnical-TS Asia JKT

What skills and experience do you need?

• Minimum of Bachelor degree of Geology/Mining Engineer with minimum 2 years geotechnical experiences work for Geotechnical Engineer in ore/open pit coal mining industry.

• Minimum of Bachelor degree of Geology or Mining Engineer with minimum 4 years geotechnical experiences work for Senior Geotechnical Engineer in ore/open pit coal mining industry.

• Strong concept and knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and geotechnical in mining principles to support existing project and tendering

• Must be has skills in geotechnical modelling software such as Galena, Geostudio (Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W), RocScience (Dips, RocData, RocPlane, Slide, RockFall, Wedge, Phase2/RS2) and will be advantage if has experience with MineScape/Vulcan;

• Has government certification of POP (Pratama Competency Test);

• Good analytical, responsible and quick adaptable into new environment

• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English both verbal and written; and computer literate.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – SURVEYOR & SENIOR SURVEYOR- 925205

(Jakarta & Site Based)

SENIOR SURVEYOR

Some of your duties will include: 

Provide high calibre survey services for tender advice (Jakarta Only), project start up capability, and on-going monthly reconciliation support. Improved & Implement standard survey regulation/procedure across Thiess Asia Project (Jakarta Only). Lead organise, and provide direction for team members to ensure outstanding performance is archived including HSE&Q outcomes that align with Business Objectives

What skills and experience do you need?

• Minimum of Bachelor degree of Geodetic Engineering with minimum of 5-7 years’ experience for working on site at open pit mining operation (underground experience are more preferred) and construction

• Proficient experience in Surveying methods/principles, demonstrate standard accuracy concepts, capable in leading survey area to provide high quality survey services for mining operation start from tender process (Jakarta Only), project start-up until project operational

• Proven skills in survey data capture and process using Laser Scanner, RTK GPS, Total Station, UAV, and nearshore Bathymetry and software such as Terramodel, GIS, and Vulcan will be advantage

• Able to manage, administer, improve, implement, and review survey’s regulation/procedure, develop (Jakarta Only)

• Accordance with the Standards, Specifications, Schedules, QA/QC, Safety, Environmental and Programme requirements and are within budgeted cost levels.

• Possess government certification of Juru Ukur Tambang & Pengawas Operational Pertama (POP)

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, good analytical, responsible and adaptable

• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written; and computer literate

SURVEYOR

Some of your duties will include: 

Provide daily operational survey for mining project such as

• Assist to provide high quality and appreciated Survey services, and on-going daily, weekly, monthly Survey activities and monthly reconciliation support.

• Responsibility for the efficient utilization of the laser scanner, adopted survey techniques for point cloud data capture and data management systems across his/her daily functions.

• Ensure that all survey personnel are suitably trained to recognize the hazards associated with machine interaction whilst performing survey tasks.

• Develop and implement efficient practices using available resources and technology.

• Identify and recommend alternate solutions, which may provide more efficient outcomes and greater profitability.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Minimum of Bachelor degree of Geodetic Engineering with minimum 3 years’ experience for Surveyor working on site at open pit mining operation (underground experience are more preferred) and construction

• Proficient experience in Surveying methods/principles, demonstrate standard accuracy concepts, capable in leading survey area to provide high quality survey services for mining operation start.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – GEOLOGIST & SENIOR GEOLOGIST- 925207

(Jakarta & Site Based)

Some of your duties will include: 

Geologist (Site based only) 

• Provide geological analysis supporting mining activities

• Coordination with mine plan, survey and mining operation for coal inventory, coal recovery, geological field anomalies, etc.

• Assist mine planning and production personnel with data on the geological conditions for mining execution

• Ensure maximum coal recovery in the most cost effectively and safe manner.

• Provide daily, weekly and monthly report about coal activities (inventory, supply, reconciliation, inspection).

• Actively contribute to a positive teamwork within engineering group and environment at all times.

• To communicate geological issues to the team and client

Senior Geologist (Jakarta & Site based only) 

• Provide geological modelling and interpretation capability to support Thiess.

• Provide reconciliation reports and recoverable reserve status of quantity and quality, validate models supplied by the client, report on model variances

• Support, coordinate and communicate with geologist sites for reconcile, geological problems and updating model.

• Support technical service for tender preparation of prospective new projects (Jakarta Only).

• Provide qualitative and quantitative data of the reserve and manipulate reserves to account for mining practices;

• Prepare geological models/data as required and actively communicate unexpected occurrences of faults, partings, pinch and swell, and similar geological disturbances

• Liaise with client on preparation of working model & ensure relevant new pit data are incorporated into the next working model.

• Liaison with geology consultant or geological tools/software provider (Jakarta Only).

What skills and experience do you need?

• Minimum of Bachelor degree of Geology with minimum 2 years experiences for Geologist and 4 years experiences for Senior Geologist in open pit coal mining industry, previous experience at a mine site preferred and minimum 1 year experience in similar role as Modelling Geologist more preferred;

• Strong concept and knowledge of geological modelling and reserving include in mining principles to support existing project and tendering

• Must be has skills in geological modelling software such as MineScape (Geological Database, Stratmodel, Opencut & Advance Stratmodel) or will be advantage if experience with Minex or Vulcan;

• Has government certification of POP (Pratama Competency Test);

• Good analytical, responsible and quick adaptable into new environment

• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English both verbal and written; and computer literate
