Martabe Gold Mine is managed and operated by PT Agincourt Resources. The mine covers an area of 30 km2 that falls under the sixth generation of Contract of Work (Cow) covering a total area of 1,639 km2.
The resource base on 31 December 2015 includes 7.4 Mos. of gold and 69 Mos. of silver. Production commenced at Martabe on 24 July 2012. The operating capacity of Martabe Gold Mine is 4.5 tap ore to produce in excess of 250,000 oz. of gold and 2-3 Mos. of silver per annum.
PT Agincourt Resources engages approximately 2,300 employees and contractors, more than 98% Indonesians, of which 71% were recruited from South Tapanuli and other regions in North Sumatra.
To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:
SENIOR SAFETY SUPERVISOR (PD 1611053)
This position will be based in Martabe Site within Project Development Department, working on schedule 4 Weeks On ; 2 weeks Off and reports directly to the Project Manager.
The role of the Senior Safety Supervisor is :
• Lead the safe construction execution of multiple contractors across a diverse portfolio of large construction projects.
• Safety supervisors are responsible for a wide variety of tasks associated with maintaining a safe workplace. Many near miss incidents are caused by unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards.
• Safety supervisors are responsible for ensuring that workers are properly trained regarding company-specific and Occupational Safety and Health Act, or OHS, safety requirements.
• Safety supervisors are involved in creating, maintaining and communicating safety-related policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that they are followed.
• Beyond providing safety training to employees, safety supervisors are proactively involved in ensuring that proper practices are observed on the workplace.
• Safety supervisors are responsible for making sure that all safety equipment is properly maintained.
• When accidents, injuries or illnesses occur in the workplace, it is important to determine the cause so that such problems can be prevented in the future. Supervisors are responsible for conducting accident investigations and for ensuring that all occupationally injured employees report to the Occupational Medical Service (OMS) immediately.
• Safety supervisors are responsible for ensuring that their companies are in compliance with all safety-related regulatory requirements, including OHS standards, Department of Transportation regulations and Environmental Protection Agency requirements.
Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experiences:
1. Formal qualifications in a Health and Safety related discipline.
2. 15 years’ experience in the mining industry in the field of construction safety.
3. Processing plant construction site based experience.
4. Experience in the supervision of contractor construction personnel.
5. Experience working with expatriate personnel.
6. Experience working with Crisis Management System.
7. Thorough knowledge response strategies.
8. Current, thorough knowledge of Mine Safety Act and Regulations
9. A sound awareness of operational safety issues and an excellent personal safety record.
10. High level competency in personal computer applications including Excel, Access & Project
11. Ability to obtain a Indonesia Driver’s License
12. Knowledge in the field of risk assessment and risk management.
13. Thorough knowledge of incident investigation practices to identify causes and remedial actions.
14. POP/POM certification preferred.
